About K-12 GERA
K-12 GERA, Inc. (Global K–12 Education Research Association) is a nonprofit educational organization based in Frederick, Maryland, dedicated to transforming K–12 education through international collaboration, academic research, and innovation.
Founded in 2014 by a network of 32 schools from 12 countries—led by the prestigious Shijiazhuang Foreign Language Education Group (Shiwai Group) in China—K-12 GERA has grown into a global alliance of educators, schools, and thought leaders working together to improve teaching, support student development, and promote equity and excellence in education.
Our mission is to connect K–12 schools across nations to share best practices, expand multilingual and multicultural education, and empower students and educators to thrive in a globally interconnected world.
What We Do:
- Facilitate Global School Partnerships
We connect member schools to collaborate through student exchanges, joint projects, virtual classrooms, and educator summits. - Promote Language and Cultural Competence
Inspired by Shiwai Group’s six-language model, we support schools in expanding access to world languages, international faculty, and global studies programs. - Advance Research and Innovation
Through our Academic Board, we promote educational research, teacher training, and student-led inquiry across disciplines. - Host an Annual International Conference
Our member schools participate in a rotating global conference to explore trends in education and celebrate shared learning goals. - Champion Equity and Holistic Learning
We believe education should be inclusive, well-rounded, and community-driven. Our work supports moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and practical development of every child.
K-12 GERA is proudly incorporated as a Maryland nonprofit and operates with no membership fees. All board and advisory roles are voluntary, and we are committed to transparency, service, and long-term educational impact.
